About the Chef:
Chef Ashley was born in Texas and made her way to Georgia during middle school, growing up in the Gwinnett County area. She is the owner and executive chef at Graft Restaurant in Grayson.
Growing up helping out in my grandfather’s mexican restaurant in Texas helped me gain my passion for food and my love of restaurants. I was fortunate to meet some great chefs along the way too that I’ve learned from, leading to me having my own catering business and eventually owning my own restaurant.
Favorite Culinary Memory:
Prior to opening the restaurant, I was asked to cater a wedding out in California at Gainey Vineyard. They flew me out and within five days, I met with local farmers, constructed a locally sourced menu to pair with the vineyard’s wines and catered the reception. A wonderful experience!
What I’ll be Tasting at Good Taste Atlanta:
House sourdough bread (toast) with house pimento cheese and house pickles; plus a local salad; and a cayenne sea salt brownie bite.
I love to sing! From my early days, I was classically trained in vocals and piano and if I wouldn’t have become a chef I probably would have pursued a life in the music industry...maybe I’ll try America’s Got Talent one day.
On MY Bucket List:
To experience cultural foods and wines of Italy, France & Spain, and spend time learning from their local chefs and culinary specialists.
About the Restaurant:

It’s a community restaurant with outstanding, creative, seasonal foods and unique wines, house made cocktails and craft beers.
