Meet the chefs that will be participating at this year’s Good Taste Atlanta. Stay tuned for a new chef highlight every week leading up to the event.

About the Chef:

Chef Jonathan was raised in Chattanooga, TN and made his way to Georgia because of school at Emory Univ. and Kennesaw State. He has been with Proof of the Pudding catering for 14 years and lives locally in Duluth.

Culinary Background/Training:
I wanted to be a ‘spice merchant’ early on because I love the smells, but a summer job in high school at a restaurant/bar got me hooked and I’ve stayed in the food industry ever since. I worked my way up, putting myself through college and learning what I needed to know.

Favorite Culinary Memory:
About 10 years ago I had a lot of fun catering an event for Proof called Walking with Dinosaurs. I really enjoyed creating the menu for it including pterodactyl wings and dinosaur food figures walking across the table. It’s an event that really taps into your culinary creative side and was a lot of fun to do.

Angus Short Rib Beef Sliders with a muscadine demi glace and tart apple slaw

What I’ll WHIP-UP on the Cooking Demo Stage:
Pumpkin Cheesecake...with a recipe to share!

Fun Fact:
I love to white water canoe...mostly the upper Chattahoochee River near Helen, but I’ll go anywhere. It’s a lot of fun relaxing with friends.

On MY Bucket List:
Top 10, I want to paddle the Nahanni River in Canada...and then fly fish in Patagonia, Chile.
