Meet the chefs that will be participating at this year’s Good Taste Atlanta. Stay tuned for a new chef highlight every week leading up to the event.

About the Chef:
Bio:

Chef Luis was born in Peru and moved to the United States in search of his own path. He landed in Georgia right away and started working in the restaurant business. He is the Executive Chef for Frontera Mex-Mex Grill, as well as for the new Frankie’s The Steakhouse restaurant in Duluth.

Culinary Background/Training:
Growing up in Peru, my family owned a restaurant that I helped out in. Seeing my mother and sister working hard drove me to want something different...I wanted to be an engineer. After I moved to the States though, my first job was washing dishes at a restaurant. Within a year, I was a sous chef and I was hooked. I attended the Culinary Institute of America and worked my way up from there.

Favorite Culinary Memory:
I had the opportunity to meet Demi Moore while she was in Georgia filming The Joneses movie. The restaurant I was at prepared the food for her and the crew.

What I’ll be Tasting at Good Taste Atlanta:
Tacos, Mini Corn on the Cob and Ceviche Tropical

What I’ll WHIP-UP on the Cooking Demo Stage:
Ceviche Tropical (you don’t want to miss this recipe!)

Fun Fact:
I served in the Ejército del Perú (Peruvian Army) when I was 18, before coming to the States.

On MY Bucket List:
I want to travel to Europe one day...France, Italy and Spain. Their foods are everywhere in the world, very traditional, and I want to experience them first hand.
