Meet the chefs that participated at the 2017 event.
Meet the chefs that will be participating at this year’s Good Taste Gwinnett. Stay tuned for a new chef highlight every week leading up to the event.

About the Chef:

Chef Rico was born in Cavite City, Philippines and grew up in the Gwinnett area attending Buford High School.

Culinary Background/Training:
I am self taught, however, I did take folk and square dancing in college. Of course, it was the advance volleyball classes that really made the difference. Culinary is in my blood, with my mom working in the industry for over 20 years. At my first job working at the old Lake Lanier Islands resort, I encountered chefs from around the world, that I learned from the most.

Favorite Culinary Memory:
My favorite culinary memory is standing on a chair while calling my mother at work and asking her how to fry an egg.

What I’ll be Tasting at Good Taste Gwinnett:
House Smoked Pork Belly Bao Bun with Pepper Jelly and Pickled Watermelon

What I’ll WHIP-UP on the Cooking Demo Stage:
PJoin Chef Bryan and Chef Jen on the cooking demo stage, from our sister restaurant, The Brunch Apothecary, as they demonstrate a skirt steak and chimichurri dish for you!

On MY Bucket List:
My bucket list is very simple, I want the power company to stroke me a check.

About the Restaurant:
We serve international comfort food. We like to say we serve everything from Asian to Cajun. Honestly, we like to just make food people enjoy eating and sharing with friends. We welcome our guests with a celebration of regional and world comfort cuisine
